About Us - Pilates Essence

ABOUT THE STUDIO

Founded in 2006 by Mia Marie Reynoso, Pilates Essence is a “Classical” Pilates studio.

Some Californians don’t know that there is a difference between East/West Coast Pilates. At Pilates Essence, we practice the New York Method, also known as Classical Pilates. That means we teach the exercises and overall methodology that Mr. Joseph Pilates originally intended and designed. There are no variations at Pilates Essence — only the true traditional Pilates exercises that are guaranteed to transform your body. Said Mr. Pilates: “In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you’ll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you’ll have a NEW BODY.” We stand by that quote. Join Pilates Essence, and you will literally watch and feel your body transform.

Pilates Essence has top-of-the-line “GRATZ” equipment, shipped from New York. GRATZ is the first company to work with Mr. Joseph Pilates 80 years ago, is recognized as the leading brand in the industry.

At Pilates Essence, we’ve created a intimate environment that allows you to feel safe and comfortable while you’re working out. If you prefer quality over quantity, quiet over loud, and calm over busy, Pilates Essence is for you. In addition, Pilates Essence has a reputation as the cleanest Pilates studio in LA. Shoes are removed upon arrival, and equipment is cleaned after each use.

Pilates Essence is a work studio, not a coffee shop. Here you will work hard towards your fitness goals. With over 500 exercise in the Classical system, you will never get bored. Workouts are different every session, and are tailored to your personal fitness needs. Be prepared to make this your Pilates home because our client relationships are built to last!

We look forward to seeing you at Pilates Essence.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Owning and operating Pilates Essence is a dream come true for Mia, a long time veteran of the health and wellness industry. At an early age, the L.A. native knew she wanted to help people look and feel good about in their body.

To that end, Mia started out as an esthetician, make-up artist and licensed massage therapist. As a masseuse, she built a devoted following across Southern California and beyond, but ultimately realized she had to make a career change after developing carpal tunnel syndrome.

Between Mia’s love for fitness, her knowledge of human physiology, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the fact that she was already a passionate practitioner of Pilates, her path was clear. Mia sought out the very best certification programs in the Pilates market “Power Pilates” to hone her expertise. She opened her own studio, and transitioned seamlessly into a brand new career, and a brand new way to help people look and feel their best. Today, Mia not only impresses the mantra, “Love, approve, accept yourself” onto her clients, but she lives by it!
